[Literature Series] Victims

Not everyone can do YOUR jobs but honestly,

Does it take that much to be a human?

We never asked for you to be extraordinary, just to understand our plight

Maybe we asked too much, maybe we expected more.

Then again, promises were made.

Were those empty words spoken to inspire us

Or

Were they just what you expected as well?

Begs the question, actually

That if you could make the same fatal flaw as us mortals,

Why do you act like such gods?

Maybe we’re dyslexic, maybe we’re supposed to say dogs instead.

Maybe we’re supposed to pretend like you made no mistakes,

That you were simple victims of circumstances.

However, it does not give you justification to act like you did nothing wrong

Either have some humility or face humiliation.

The choice is yours

When really,

It is ours.
