Power is addictive.

It can poison the purest of hearts and the clearest of minds,

Leaving only desecration and despair at the hands of the wielder.

The blood of the innocent,

The sweat of the tireless,

The tears of the broken,

All on your hands and the weight on your shoulders.

Do you honestly care though?

This privilege, the luxury of turning a blind eye in the pursuit of what end?

One can only imagine the destruction.

Why should we even care then?

When power is so toxic to us,

We still desire it hoping that we can use it for good.

Yes, there are pure hearts and clear minds but we must consider,

Is it all subjective?

Perhaps, but so what?

So long as we can forever argue the importance of power, we will never be satisfied with it.

We always want more, we will always want it.

Because it is addictive, it is

Comfort

Prestige

Authority

Ignorance

Vengeful

It will always corrupt,

Always kill

Always disappoint

Always fail.

To purge requires drastic measures, a forceful disconnection from it.

The sweetest of nectar will eventually run out and you will be left with nothing but pity.

Oh, what a pity indeed.
